It has a USB chip on the one side, to connect to the PC, then K-line and CAN-bus drivers on the other side, to connect to the vehicle diagnostic busses, and a microprocessor in the middle - so to speak, with some other required circuitry. These "cables" are what we refer to as an Intelligent cable. We started developing the "+CAN" versions in 2004. Now let's look at this "HEX-USB+CAN cable" in a little more detail.
